Launching culture's most anticipated sequel

After 97 years Converse had some big news to announce. For the first time their iconic sneaker - The Chuck Taylor All Star, had been significantly overhauled since 1917.

The Chuck Taylor II had a Nike Lunarlon insole and thicker padded canvas, meant they were seriously comfortable. But as a brand that pushes up against convention, comfortability isn’t really in the Converse DNA.

So we took the idea of comfy and turned it into fuel for being able to spend more time on your feet. More time for our creators to keep doing all the stuff that they loved doing longer… harder… and fiercer.

The Chuck II was Converse’s biggest secret but it didn’t stop us giving exclusive sneak peaks to creators. We gave them a tool kit of a neon ‘II’ and no rules on how to use it to tease the secret out.

And then on the big day, we let creators announce the Chuck II drop.

Breaking them in.

Staying true to Converse’s rebellious roots we threw a party to break them in. A party that involved wearing a boiler suit, goggles and gallons of lunar paint.
